Cool Springs Engine 23 and Tanker 21 assisted Harmony VFD on a working fire at the former Gullistan Carpet facility on Turnersburg Highway. A large air conditioning unit caught fire, sending flames several feet into the air before it was brought under control.
Firefighters from several local departments responded to assist, including Ebenezer VFD, Union Grove VFD, Central VFD, Trinity VFD, County-Line VFD, Sheffield-Calahaln VFD, Troutman Fire and Statesville Fire.
No one was injured in the blaze and most of the damage was contained to the large air conditioning unit and the roof of the building.
The Iredell County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the incident.
