Brush 20, Tanker 21, and Utility 21 responded to a reported grass fire near the dead-end of Lone Pine Road. Brush 20 arrived to find a small fire in the woods behind a grass field. Firefighters were able to make access and extinguish the fire, having just enough length of hose to reach the burning areas. Several large trees and a tree stand were involved in the fire.
Iredell County Forest Ranger Dennis Floyd also responded to the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
