House Fire on Longview Road
Email Print RSS Facebook Twitter RSS

By Chief Andy Webster
November 15, 2014

A well involved attic fire was found as companies from Cool Springs, Rowan-Iredell and Cleveland arrived on the scene at this residence on Longview Road. Rowan-Iredell Engine 721 arrived on scene followed by Engine 1. Multiple hand-lines were placed into operation as crews entered the structure trying to control the fire with an interior attack. Soon after Asst. Chief Tom Groff acting as Incident Command called for all crews to exit the structure as conditions worsened. A defensive attack was used as the roof of the house collapsed. A tanker shuttle provided water supply for the operations and the fire was soon brought under control.

Units: Engine 1, Engine 3, Tanker 1, Tanker 2, Squad 1 and Brush 1

Mutual Aid: Rowan-Iredell Engine 721 and Tanker 731, Statesville Engine 4, Cleveland Tankers 451 and 452, Mobile Air 10, Iredell Rescue 1105
