On Sunday afternoon we were dispatched to a wreck at the intersection of Jane Sowers Road and Old Mocksville Road. Engine 21 responded shortly after the dispatch. When Engine 21 arrived, personnel found two cars involved in a traffic accident with one patient entrapped. Fire and Rescue personnel were able to quickly remove the patient. There were additional patients with injuries, which were transported by Iredell EMS and Iredell Rescue to a local hospital. Cool Springs Fire also checked for fire hazards that were caused by the accident. With the accident in the roadway, the road had to be shut down and traffic was detoured around the scene. The wreck was cleaned up by a local wrecker and the roadway was reopened. The NC Highway Patrol investigated the accident.
