The land for our new home was purchased from former fire chief David Cline’s family in 2016.  The station had its historic groundbreaking in April of that same year and was completed in the fall of 2017.  This station rests only a few hundred yards from the site of the previous station. Firehouse 1 has 5 pull through truck bays, 1 small truck bay, 2 EMS bays, a kitchen, dining area, bedrooms, showers, bathrooms, offices, a training room, and an EMS day room that has a small kitchen, TV, lounge chairs, and a bathroom, and a Sheriff’s Department office and bathroom.  This station serves as the headquarters for Cool Springs Fire Department.

Welcome to our new home

Station 2 (Fifth Creek)

Est. 1995

144 Fifth Creek Road

(704) 872-7860

Engine 3, Tanker 2,  Reponse 1 Trailer

The land for the Fifth Creek Station was leased in 1994 from Bartlett Milling Company, formally known as the Statesville Flour Mill.  This station was erected the following year and is only a few hundred yards from the site of the fatal Swicegood Fire of 1960, the fire that brought about the creation of a new fire department in eastern Iredell County.

Station 2 has three truck bays, a kitchen, dining area, office, bedroom, shower, and bathrooms.  This station provides much needed coverage to the outlying rural areas of Cool Spring.

First Station 1 (Vance)

Est. 1960

641 Mocksville Highway

Retired & SOLD

The Vance Station was the headquarters of the fire department and rests on a one-acre plot on Mocksville Highway across from Bell Farm Road.  The original building, which is now hidden behind the current building exterior, consisted of two truck bays, a bathroom with shower, a kitchen, an office, and a small dormitory.  Every brick was laid by the hands of local community members who donated their labor to the department.  This station has since been through three major renovations over the years and now includes a large apparatus bay, a classroom, and a fitness center.

Thank You to every past and present member for your 57 years of service to our community in this building.  Hope to have many more years to come in our new home across the street making new memories.
